Sustainability Strategy Partnerships
Rural Impact Lab is currently accepting a limited number of community and rural partners for 2026 funding and sustainability initiatives. Organizations are encouraged to connect early as project capacity is limited.
Summit Plan: Custom Federal/State Funding Partnership
Summit provides grantees with comprehensive funding partnership. At the highest level of expertise and hands-on support, the plan includes the Map + Compass, annual on-site visits, end-to-end grant development for four (4) federal/state grants, and ongoing priority sustainability funding support (3 years).
Elevation Plan: Tailored Federal/State Funding Priority
Elevation plan provides the next level of personalized sustainability funding support with the Map + Compass, an initial on-site visit, end-to-end grant development for three (3) federal/state grants, and ongoing priority sustainability funding support (2 years).
Ascend Plan: Personalized Federal/State Funding Support
Ascend provides large institutions with sustainability funding expertise with the Map + Compass, an initial on-site visit, end-to-end grant development for two (2) federal/state grants, and one year of priority sustainability funding support (1 year).
Rural Sustainability Learning Collaborative

Traverse Plan: Bespoke Foundation Funding Strategy
Traverse provides nonprofits with hands-on, bespoke expertise for customized funding strategy. This plan includes comprehensive, personalized capacity building with a Map + Compass Strategic Funding Analysis, onsite visit, and a fractional grant strategist focused on project sustainability management for two years.
Navigate Plan: Capacity Building Strategy
Navigate provides nonprofits with strategic expertise for sustaining grant projects. This plan includes comprehensive capacity building with the annual Rural Sustainability Learning Collaborative (virtual learning cohort), Map + Compass Strategic Funding Analysis, onsite funding sustainability workshop, and grant coaching and review for three years.
Trailhead: Sustainability Learning Strategy
Trailhead combines capacity building and personalized funding sustainability planning. It includes a three-year membership to the Rural Sustainability Learning Collaborative (virtual learning cohort) and grant coaching and review for three years.
